My living room is pretty dark. Not so much ****, but the backlighting. From my understanding, LCD > Plasma in brightly lit rooms. However, Plasma has better "dark" levels.
For a person who can barely see to begin with, I can't see the difference in black levels on a 32" Dynex and a Pioneer Kuro.
Which one lasts longer? Why you suggesting plasma over LCD? The costs are near equal @ 42".
The blacks are sooo much better. And I dunno, I guess I like the idea of buying a big peice of glass vs. a plastic screen. Why you suggesting plasma over LCD? The costs are near equal @ 42".
So the plasma is like 100% heavier? The blacks are sooo much better. And I dunno, I guess I like the idea of buying a big peice of glass vs. a plastic screen.
Perfect. I shall go.
Now, Where's DeMan, I need to know Plasma or LCD.
It depends on what you consider more important. As flip has said power, heat, weight are lower in LCD. I don't get what he is saying about brightly lit rooms though. My plasma looks great in lit rooms.dude...plasma
nah they're about 20% heavier....well....at least mine.So the plasma is like 100% heavier?
IMO, I will be replacing before it dies, so this old *** excuse means nothing to me. Longevity is better now and burn in issues have been corrected. My living room is pretty dark.

I remember when plasmas came out htey had like a stupid 5 year life span.
See. I knew you'd have my answer. TY.It depends on what you consider more important. As flip has said power, heat, weight are lower in LCD. I don't get what he is saying about brightly lit rooms though. My plasma looks great in lit rooms.
Any good plasma always looks better than a good LCD to me though. Much more fluid, especially up close.
The difference in video quality is minimal though. I don't think you are going to be critical enough to want or need a plasma. For you all the other benefits of an LCD are probably more attractive so go with it.
Why replace a prefectly good plasma before you need to?IMO, I will be replacing before it dies, so this old *** excuse means nothing to me. Longevity is better now and burn in issues have been corrected.
Actually, you told me to get a 37" because the 32" was too small. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gifYes and I never said I was a balla. Dev has the 32" sets in the bedroom, he is balla. I suggested Tommy get 32 because 27 is just a bit too small. I thought I ordered 32s but I was mistaken. You can't just leave behind your messicans //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
