What they track is those using the chips. Problem is many chips come with switches now. You can turn them off when you plug into the net.Ok, so how do they track this. Until we know the answer there really is no telling how exactly they tell who do ban from xbox live.
Also, isnt that why MS is always doing updates? So they know who is using backups and who isnt and also who is using hacked shit? I thought this was the way they kicked people off, without actually doing work or trying to find them. haha

They won't be scanning your drive. they are accessing info from the flash that contains the OS and doing scans on changes to the core pieces of hardware or software. Scanning your hdd from it is nearly worthless since it has to be hacked somewhere in the hardware BEFORE the hdd. It isn't like a PC where the HDD contains the OS. the OS is on a flash chip on the mobo. This is what has to be hacked with either software if possible or more likely hardware hacked.
