There has to be a hack for it. It is still at the core just and HDD. It probably has to be formatted a certain way with files on it that the 360 looks for. that would be my guess anyway. I have never looked into it, but there are always hacks for crap like that.

The HDD is a goofy looking thing that attaches to the side. It doesn't use a laptop HDD like the PS3.

That is just a housing. inside is an sata HDD. The method for hooking it up and attaching is proprietary. Adapters get made to work around that sillyness. Every console gets hacked. It's just figuring out what the machine is looking for from the HDD and getting it on the HDD. In this case the Xbox is looking for info in sector 16. Which is recorded data of the HDD type, serial etc. This is why only a WD drive will work. MS must use WD drives in their machine so this is one of the pieces of info the XBOX is looking for to mount the drive.

Keep in mind the steering wheel and controller is very very sensitive. Using a game cube controller yields far better results.

Played some mario kart the other day and it's actually pretty fun!

And for a person like myself who is not very computer/tech savvy, it just sounds like more work than it's worth.

Right now I'm only concerned about getting a flat screen. I don't play video games much now anyways, so I can wait on getting one of the new consoles.

If you are not into video game much and are getting a flat panel TV, get a PS3. The dvd player alone is worth it. Only games that are exclusive to xbox that are any good is Halo and Gears of War. Most all good games are multi-platform now.

Oh no I used to live near it. When my dad was stationed @ Wright-Patt you couldn't help but notice it everytime you drive up and down the road. He would tell us stories about it that others would tell him.
