Well, I can do this a couple ways, none of which I have really investigated.
I can get a long cord and drag it where I need it to be...or I can try to have "in-wall" ethernet with smaller, perhaps retractable cords.

I hax the wireless in the area from time to time, but it is only good small times.

How far away is this? In the same room? Depending on how neat you are with it, run it along the baseboard. But if it has to cross doorways I would just run the cable through the ceiling into a wall much like coax cable is run for the tv.

The modem is set up in my bed room, but I can move it. I only move between the bedroom and the living room. I was thinking of buying an ethernet splitter and running something under the house to the living room to an outlet like cable. To me, it's easier to run under the house than the ceiling....but it is getting cold out.
