Was at work. Reached in a shelf to grab something (our shelves are metal beams with 2x4's as the work surface.. or whatever you'd call it) and as i was pulling a can out i had to jerk a can and noticed what i thought was a splinter. I pulled the can out and there was a piece of wood a little bit smaller than a pencil sticking clear through my thumb. it entered on the left side of my right thumb (by the nail) and exited through the bottom right area of the pad. My manager who was standing right there just said "yeah, soooo... i'll get started on the paperwork."
Tried pulling it out, but the piece just broke off. They had to cut my thumb then remove it.
