If I could make the lawn taller than the driveway, what I have above will work. Since they are on the same plane., it looks dumb.

You'd need a packer, lots of wood chips, a level, maybe a few railroad ties or bricks. Needs to be level with a slope toward the street so no flooding, packing it will keep it from washing away.
