Not in my hood. From looking around here, it seems that people who are just pushing a couple amps and a couple subs are rocking daisy chained batteries in the trunk.

But then again I was always killing alternators and it really use to piss me off.

It is more common now, basically because of the availability of cheap watts. Back then only a handful could afford to make that much power lol. Amps cost $1/watt or more back then. I still seen a few local rides though with setups that had multi batts back then.

I sort of assumed that about the amps. I figured it was either that or the speaker technology has evolved like the CPU.
