considering i have over $350 in parts in each sub and i built them myself (and one has only been broken in, the other is brand new)

I need to do a little research about those subs though. I've been curious about what makes different subs better for SQ/SPL. I was noticing that the Fi Q's had an Xmax that was larger than the BTL, and that makes no sense to me. Shouldn't the BTL have a larger Xmax since it's the SPL sub?

xmax isnt what determines what makes a sub loud (for the most part)

It has a lot to do with how much air the sub moves though, right? So what does determine how loud a sub is? I mean, once you get to a certain magnet strength and size, what's the difference?

It seems all I have to do is assemble the wood...which I prefer so I can stain it any color I'd like.
I do not want to go through the trouble of assembling a crossover.

However....I am thinking that it made be for naught, as the people I'd like to 'impress' with HT couldn't tell the difference between that and the speakers in the TV.

Sounds like you already figured it out, but I only buy electronics for my enjoyment. At best, my wife does not care about it. And when we have guests ove they don't want to listen to music as they are much more interested in my words of wisdom.

Opinion's on steroids? I honestly believe I have about reached my genetic potential. The past year I only put on about 5 solid pounds of muscle. I am currently 5'7" 193lbs, cutting down to 185. I will be a solid, fairly ripped 185lbs.
Some people think I am on steroids now. And I like that. I still would like to get bigger though after I finish my first cut sometime in September. I would have a 'cheating' feeling if I used steroids. I have been reading a lot about them lately and how to correctly use them.. I doubt I do, but just wandered yall's opinion of them in general.
