After reading more, it seems I am supposed to tip the guy I am betting against. wtf?
So, if I beat you, I then return some of the money. This is craziness. Perhaps this could be a good spectator sport.
no, no, no. are you reading some french canadian guide to poker?? you sometimes tip the dealer a buck, but its not required. i never give monies to the loser. he should have known better to be in my pot.

I would be too cocky.
Remember, I only have $300 for this venture...the one time I went to a casino, I saw the minimum bet was $10 and decided that was too steep for me.

I like horse racing, where I can make 10 exotic bets at $2 rather than making one normal bet at $20. I am curious what the minium bet per table is.

Try the roulette tables, very easy game to play. You can either bet on black or red or if your willing to go all out, a color and a number. I went to Vegas for my anniversary and played that game, I **** at gambling and dont like to lose money period. The fun part about that trip was some Douche who thought he was the man kept betting against me and losing a lot of money, talking $300-$400 a pop //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I was referring to the dealer. Isn't the object to beat the dealer as well? He is a competitor too, he is not? He has an agent with fiduciary duty to the house, a "person" that I am trying to beat.
It depends on the game. Blackjack you play against the dealer but they must use house rules so it takes the judgment out of it for them. In Hold em you dont play against the dealer and craps there is no dealer. Pai gow and those games I am not familiar with so I cant add much there.

But since you don't have to bet the whole $300, it seems worthless idea anyway.
I dislike the idea of not putting chips in your pocket. I understand the idea of not allowing one to pull out more chips when they think they have a good hand. But to not allow chips allocated for a totally different purpose to be placed in one's pocket seems silly.

I think a big part of it is to keep the other players from getting pissy with each other. In any case, tappin is right -- it really is not a big issue. The only reason I went into any kind of detail about it was just to educate you.

It's far more important to understand that you can't go into your poket during the middle of hand -- if you tried that everyone would laugh at you (and then fold more than likely).

the dealer and the house have no stake in the poker table. youre just playing aginst other players. dealer just deals cards and keeps game running smoothly. he does take a "rake" out of every pot. usually 3 or 4 dollars. thats the house take.

Vegas? If so, walk each hotel and take in the sights. We missed the Gondola ride in one of the hotels and my wife was bummed out. And if you are hitting Vegas, watch out for all the Hispanic guys passing out the hooker cards/fliers they get annoying after a while.

Was there a minimum bet?
It doesn't seem like $300 will last me much time.
$300 should be more than plenty as long as you dont try and go all out.

Make small wagers, walk around a bit. Play different games. Get an overall feel for the casino and then go where you are comfortable.

he's going to be with me and WSW...how could he not be comfortable?

I see.

I am more interested in craps than the poker. Reason being is the math payoff is higher with more exotic bets. However, I am not sure what is proper etiquette. Say, I think the next roll the guy is going to crap out....can I make such a bet (on the street you can)...will the guy be upset about it (on the street he will)
just bet the field. When i played ceaser's palace on super nintendo, i won thousands on the field.

Slow about what? Slow in line?
Hell, I am still waiting for my Suntrust debit card. It expired in June.
Slow like that. Debit cards and especially with deposits. I swear they take their sweet *** time releasing funds, no matter what. I could walk in and deposit money and it wont be available til 3 days later. It doesnt matter if i walk in, do it at the ATM and jesus, a transfer from bank to bank......yeah. Direct deposits are always a day late or more. Shit ive been waiting on the one for 3 days now and it will be the 4th day tomorrow.

cliffs: they keep shit "pending" for too long.

I see...I can understand the tip there.
Gambling seems very complicated....to me atleast.
it does to me too. especially playing with serious players. hahaha but i get a good laugh the more mad they get.
