I was surprsied to learn that hatchbacks really do not get much better gas mileage than full size sedans.

It is an Acura. I think high mileage for them is in the 300,000's.

I am a fan of these as well.

I really need to hurry up and find a car that I like. It's the only thing holding me back from buying a new one. This truck getting 12 mpg is killing me.

Honestly I would probably still go for it. When you think about it the car can do 200k without any issues and by that time it is going to be time for a new one anyway.
I was looking at cars around 13k when I bought my Scion, Choices were a TL, Maxima, 5 Series and the new Scion. I went with the Scion because it was new and good on gas but regretted it after a (short) while.

Scion is about paid off now, will be trading it in for something with a bit more luxury and power once it is. 04-05 Maximas are out there for 14-16k so I may jump on one of those they seem fairly nice.
