You can have more than one goal at once. You need to multitask.

Assess your life (that you won't figure out anyhow) while you chase ***.

Considering the amount of time it usually takes for you to make a decision... She'll have probably moved on.

There's nothing for her to analyze now that you have dumped her, so moving on is the natural progression.

Me and my g/f went through a similar situation about 2 years ago. Neither of us knew what we wanted to do with our lives. We were both doing bad in school, and constantly down each others' throats for stupid reasons.

We took about 2 months off, both figured out what we wanted to do with our lives, and now we are living together, both well on our ways to degrees, and are extremely happy with our relationship.

I honestly think you're putting too much thought into the whole situation. Take whatever time you need to take to get your life to where you're happy with what you're doing, and, if she meant/means that much to you, go back and get her.
