I do think you are asking too much. Geez, we have ppeople who can't add to thirty and will argue about it even though it should be obvious that the hypo is set up to play a trick on the mind. I mean really, you would think that one would instantly be able to conclude, "hey, I am not looking at this right, there is not a missing dollar."
It is kinda like the "how many times did the white team pass the ball" illusion. It is designed to shift your focus -- and it does. However, when the "ball" illusion is revealed people are able to accept it.
I digress. The thing I walk away from this with is that the people who are most attracted to the racism threads are those who are racist -- but think that they are not. Logic does not compete well with emotion.
