So I'm thinking about starting some sort of savings account. i want to save up some money to cover some moving expenses next year.

All I have now is a checking account and it is too easy to squander that. Separating it into a savings account will help keep me away from it.

What a savings account and checking, or just a checking? If my plans work out right, I should be heading out to Minneapolis in the summer of 2009, so if I start a savings now, I should be able to get a good chunk of change built up. I can start by putting my income tax return in savings.

I give myself $200 per check in spending money (food, booze, groceries, etc) and the rest goes into savings. Once the $200 is up, I am done for two weeks.
Like this speakers will cause me to basically go without for a couple weeks.

Yea I'm done buying car audio and will put off my TV till I get a real job. I'm just going to go week by week putting money in. I'm thinking of picking up another part time summer job and put the entire earnings from that job into a savings account.
