That is where my install fails....any lower and I run into issues with the door panel...It starts acting real funny any lower.

What I want to do eventually is get some "serious" 8s, get a Q form for a 4" midrange (like the HAT 4), and keep my Cal27....Have a "stereo sub" 3 way front stage with no mono sub.

I can do it with two pdx 4.150s and hide them in the jump seat area. I am not sure about the building a sub in the jump seat idea. I just need some 8s that aren't too deep that play down to 35 Hz or so.....something to play 35 - 250 Hz. I may ask around on DIYMA.
I know you my be partial to a somewhat stock presence, but to me it sounds like you just need custom fabricated door panels dropped in. Get a nice 3 way SQ orientation going on with Proper air space created by custom molded pods. Your tastes probably don't need a sub. You just need a proper fiberglass door panel with a kick *** 3 way pod. Even my piss poor attempt at doing my door panels with FG pods bring serious mid bass into my 6.5" 2 way comps. A 3 way with an 8" could only be better IMO. I won't go that route because I still listen to a substantial amount of rap and need the exaggerated low end from time to time. Q forms **** ***. I used em in the GTO and even with deadening and an MDF backing ring, the flex of them killed any midbass. No amount of mods will make Qforms worthy.
