Yes. The receiver will have X amount of HDMI inputs to which you can add X amount of HDMI devices. Then it will have an HDMI output for the screen or you can just use component video to the screen like I do. No need sending an audio signal to my TV since I don't want to hear those shitty speakers. Also I need another HDMI cable.

Doesn't HDMI have better video quality then component? I'd just mute the TV.

I notice they sell preamps, eq's, and amps. Are there active xovers like car audio, or are those passive?

So, which is better, DVI or component? HDMI or component? The answer--unsatisfying, perhaps, but true--is that it depends. It depends upon your source and display devices, and there's no good way, in principle, to say in advance whether the digital or the analog connection will render a better picture. You may even find, say, that your DVD player looks better through its DVI or HDMI output, while your satellite or cable box looks better through its component output, on the same display. In this case, there's no real substitute for simply plugging it in and giving it a try both ways.

Some sets even let you turn off the speakers altogether. Which I believe mine does. I just don't have another HDMI and the component cables haven't let me down.

They have active as well along with time delay.

I don't need more than 2 yet. I don't have an HD-DVD/BR and no current console. I just needed 2(DVD and HD cable). I will regret having only 2 when I get HD-DVD

Good question. I have been waiting for the hype to diedown and for one format to win so I could buy one more affordably. They probably are.
