But where is that tone on the frequency spectrum? Her voice is at a frequency I wish to cut, how do I know what frequency that is?


I was thinking of a computer program...

Well, plug into RCA jack in the amp, have the RCA from the HU plug into that, and then that can go to a Laptop. Fin.

I see what you mean...it would assist in "on the fly tuning" rather than me trying to determine what frequency is being played at 2:38 on track 6. I bet this is where an RTA would be helpful...to show where the peaks are.
Curious to know how the RTA compares to my ear.

I got my hair cut and I they cut it too short. This really pissed me off because I didn't want the new lady to know I'm 22 with a receding hair line. What is amazing is, my dad is 60, and has a full head of hair and no gray. I think they could be helpful if I knew more about what I was doing. Right now, it is guess and check. But if I had this program, her's what I would do...
Listen to the song and mark places where I found it to be especially bright. Then go to the program and see what frequency is being played at that time. I am sure such a program exists, I just don't know what one would call it.

I'm sure there are programs similar to this. I think I've actually seen something like this over at http://www.mp3car.com before. They were using the computer as the complete unit for audio production, and I think there were some cool eq things he was doing. I'll have to search for it.

The problem with that is you have the instrumentals, the vocals, and all of that good stuff. What you can do is get a sample of 20 hz, 25 hz, etc. To whatever hz you want, and just have it on 'playback' and tune it that way. That's what I'd do.

That's a good way to do it I guess. Like make a cd with each frequency band on a separate track and tune it to your liking.

EQ bands are EZ sauce. The left = Bass, right = Treble. Middle = Mid-range.
