How would there be a source of current greater than the alt?

some amps eat current and having multiple amps makes it more. but music is dynamic so it shouldnt be an issue, recovery time isnt so bad if your music is dynamic...unless you listen to nonsense rap where the bass line never stops

Anyway, I don't remember why I wanted to know this. I was doing something yesterday and it was relevant. But, I don't remember why today.

Well, it would rely on the battery.

Say it's a 200amp alternator... under full strain while hot it provides 180amps.

Say the load is 220 amps...

It will pull the remaining 40amps from the battery... but the alternator will still provide the 180 amps to the battery. The overall system will more than likely drop to battery voltage... and if it's a constant load will eventually drain the batter to terminal voltage.

That's why when I first had the memphis, and would beat on it full tilt... my voltage would drop to battery voltage even with my truck on.

BUT, it is used and no longer made by Moon. Stopped last year making the P-3 & P-5 to make the P5.3.

But, I got it for 1/4 of the price. It's a few years old, but good quality equipment like that doesn't really go bad.

So really if you think about it. It is a good deal.

I think it will go well with the H||H V800.
