Welcome to the Forum!

Firstly- DO NOT!! cut any wires anywhere!!!!

Installing a crossover really is not that difficult- the tuning them afterwards can be a bear though.

There are 2 different types of crossovers, Active(needs power) and Passive(doesnt need power). Both do about the same thing- however fit in the signal path at different places. Help us out by letting us know which one you have.

Also- what is the crossover model? What speakers are you installingh it on? What type of music do you listen to most?

We'd be glad to help you figure this deal out- just give us a little more info if you will.

-Again- Welcome to the Forum!!!!

take it easy,

-zane

As Zane said, do not cut any wires .......if they are the rca cables, however I think what you meant to ask (correct me if I am wrong, is can you splice the power, ground and remote wire from the same wires that run to the amp.....the answer is yes. Most people choose not to do it because it can be sloppy sometimes, but it can be done. use ring terminals when you can and be sure none of your connections come loose. Sometimes certain decks have a problem supporting the amperage needed over the remote turn on wire when several pieces of equipment are run off one wire. If this is the case you will have to find an alternate switched source to run power to some of the equipment or sometimes a relay will do the job......Also like Zane said tunning is the tedious part. That is a whole 'nother can of worms .....If you have any more questions just ask us.......everyone here is always happy to help!!
