if I have a box that the airspacec is .8 too small for teh recommended space, then will the sub soun like ****, or blow the box or what?

Whats the required distance between the rear most portion of the sub and the rear of the box?

No, nothing will blow. The sub will have a higher power handling and usually will not go quite as low and not as loud at lower frequencies. You would probably only need about .25 inches, i'd say .5 or 1 though to be safe.
