i was fine tuning my cm3 today and for some reason it lost ALOT of its volume. immediately i assumed a cable had come off or i blew a coil since its dual vc but now the sub is out and when i hook up each coil separately i get sound from both? what could this be

Use one of those handy voltmeters with the multifunctions. They are fairly cheap at any hardware store or even walmart will have them or target. 20 bucks will get you one of the higher ones and you can measure basicly everything electrical with them.

If one coil is blow, i would expect the ohms to be higher. Ohms is a measure of resistance, and when the coil blows, there is a higher resistance meaning a higher ohm.
Depends on what happened. He could of burned it shorter, or it could of sprang open and loosened up. Both would change it differently.

well right now the one reads like 3.8 so that seems fine but the other is like 1.5 im geussing that means that one is blown.

what about fixing somthign like this, not worth it?
