Cheers!

I will kick it off I suppose. Had a wonderful day at work. My training class went to lunch and when we got back we discovered we were all going to be thrown to the wolves so to speak. 2nd day of the 4th week of training and we had to jump into our live systems with near no backup just to see how we handled the stress. Mind you, we are two weeks ahead of the two classes that were in front of us but come on. We did alright. I think they have sped us up because so many have quit from the first two classes so they need coverage.

What's up, People. I have bit of a dilemma. My buddy told me of a position that just opened up at his place of work. It is a place that pays their employees quite well. Did I mention they pay quite well? I'm already in the 6 digits, and this new job, at their lowest pay scale, will be a 45% pay increase for me. Here's my dilemma... It will be a 110 mile round-tip drive in very heavy traffic. Basically, it could take me 2 hours to get to work. I don't want to live closer because I really don't like that area, and a house would cost almost $200k more. The extra cost would defeat the purpose of the raise. I will need to get an electric car, but I don't want a small car, so I will be looking at an SUV style. What are you guys thoughts? I guessing I should apply for it and see if what they pay scale they will start me at.

4 hours gone each day just traveling. I couldn't do that again. It took me an hour to get to work from Ky to Cincinnati and then, in HEAVY traffic on the way home 2 - 3 hours. I filled up every 3 days. Sometimes great pay isn't worth the mental drain.

That's what I'm talking about! My current job is only a half-mile from my house. Before this, I drove 50 mile to work. It kinda makes me cringe to make that far of a journey again. Difference is, my last job was 50 miles the other direction than this other job, so traffic was pretty good. It took me 1:15 to get to work. However, an extra couple grand a month would be nice to have. I'm thinking I will take it if they start me off at a higher scale. They have 4 levels. I'll take it if they start me off at level 2. Level 1, I'll have to think about it. However, I'll be praying for the level 4. That would put me very comfortably above $200k.

It's a lot to think about for sure. If there are other options like car pooling or a car that gets crazy gas mileage. That's the other thing, wear and tear on a vehicle. Or maybe stay near work in a hotel a couple nights a week. OR... Drive REALLY REALLY fast.

I'm looking at getting a Honda Prologue. I can get a 2025 for $25k. That would take care of my gas issue. I would get a Tesla, with the self-driving mode, but those are too ugly.

Man, I am still looking at motorcycles. Every time I think I have my mind made up I see another bike that tickles my fancy. Anything from the 400cc ZX4RR to the MT-03, the R3, R7, MT-07, M109R, Warrior 1700, to the Kawasaki ZRX1100R and ZRX1200R. There are at least a dozen other older bikes I would happily ride. I am not an HD fan at all. Nor do I care for full dresser bikes.

Here is the 2001 Kawasaki ZRX1200R One of my favorite bikes of all time. The other, the Honda CB1000F. I think I like it because it reminds me of the Kawasaki. Beautiful retro bikes.

Well we have a few more holidays this year. After completely not getting anything close to what I wanted on my schedule bid I am off for the next two. Labor day and Columbus day. They fall on Monday and for some reason, in an office, they gave me Sundays and Mondays off. Well I guess I will be able to watch the Super Bowl.

Time for new lenses and my coverage seems to be pretty darn good. I should be able to walk in and out of Target Optical under $150 out of pocket. I already have some decent Oakley Socket 5.5 frames. I think I am actually looking forward to my next visit.

That's part of the reason I'm building an e-bike. Should be done in a few more weeks. Parts are still trickling in from around the world.
