the cadence were good cheater amps, but think got banned.

the re i think was good, rated @ 35@4ohms i believe

u could go w the tantrum 1200, rated @ 250@4ohms.

my pg t1200.1 puts out 1491wrms 4ohm at 14.4v

but the amp is iasca/usac rated for 250wrms 4ohm at 12.5v

like an hcca amp says 250 watts, but it really does over 1000rms at .5 ohm load, so when u go to a comp, u can enter the 300watt class and below

HCCA is not a DEI product. The HCCA line was canx'd when DEI bought ADST (old parent company of Orion).

Any amp that makes more power into a lower impedance is a "cheater" amp. If it makes more power at 14.4V it would also fit the bill. That is how PG rates their Tantrum series so low for IASCA (12V@4ohm) but then puts the real power numbers in the 14.4V rating. It will make close to the 14.4 numbers @ 12V but it allows them to basically derate the amp and give the correct power numbers at the same time.
