CerwinVega subwoofers, what do u think bout them???

i can see that Kicker, Rf, JL, audiobahn are the most famous ones, can someone tell me if JBL and CerwinVegas make good subs??? coz i've heard that CerwinVega Stroker Series has won several awards?? what do you think of CW subs? Just for info.

Cerwin vega subs are decent subs. The strokers have won many SPL contests. The stroker subwoofer is unique in performance as well as design which has helped it's success. JBL's Power series left their mark a few years ago when they were first introduced as the first 5ohm sub. The power series has since pretty much faded away. The JBL GT series is an all around decent sub. JBL has other models available too but I have not dealt with them myself. Both Vega and JBL remain one of the leaders in the 'affordable' subwoofer category.

from what ive heard of the vegas they bump pretty dam hard. the jbl is alrigght but if you are goin to get one of the two go with the vega. and yes the strokers do kick some ass they are sweet

i'd get the vega's over jbl. i got a set vega series 8d4's ( traded for focal polyglass 6.5) and really liked them. i replaced them with hx2's because i'm a greedy power hungry idiot!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

anyway, vega is a quailty brand, you won't be disappointed!

I have a 18" cerwin vega stroker and I have to say it is load but I am also using a mod mmats amp to push it . I also have two JBL 10's and I loved them till I got the 18 they hit very hard for tens but I would say that the stroker sounds better but thats b/c its alot bigger. Go with the strokers and I am not just telling you that b/c my stoker is for sale.

The CV Strokers are crazy! I enjoyed listening to them at a recent comp. They are up there with the best but you never really hear much about them.

I would go with the stroker also, I've competed with them for years, always see that first place trophie with them. I wouldn't sell them if they weren't the best!

Like they said above, jbl is a great budget sub....I had two 10" gt subs, they were old but they had some boom to them. Loud enought to turn head and have my whole car shaking. Yea they make g0od subs, and vega, well i personally like vega for hoem audio.

Right now for car audio i have the rockford fosgate power hx2 12".

Just got a a Cerwin Vega Stoker 104 today and im only pushing around 1500 watts to it and it pounds hard now its time to get bigger amp so i can atleast push the rms on it

If I may, a point Cobra,

They are talking about the Old Stroker by the date (2002). The New did not come out till 2005.

IMO, I would leave them alone if they are below 2005.
