I have a factory Bose system in my 1991 Maxima, and I added a CD changer to the existing receiver/cassette unit. Went to Al & Ed's, and they connected the changer to the antenna input of the unit via an FM modulator.
The problem: the changer gives you a limited selection of frequencies to send the CD output into the receiver. I've tried all of them, and only one is acceptable. With all the others, you hear both the CD sound and radio interference at the same time. The one that works is okay 90% of the time, but occasionally I get a little radio noise.
The guy at Al & Ed's claims it's the diversity antenna system used by the Bose unit (both a window antenna and a motorized pole antenna).
Anyone know how I can improve the situation (ie, get rid of any radio interference)? Thanks.
