I just received a Canadian "cheque" for the first time ever. Does anybody know the wait time that it takes it to clear? Is it the same as a US check in clearing time?

Also, the dollar amount on the check is in Canadian funds, so there shouldn't be a problem for my bank to change it over to US funds, right?

not sure, but wouldnt think it would take any longer to clear. They will convert it for you...or should. I like how you quote "cheque" WTF is that....its friggin CHECK!!
Not in Canada it isnt...Same with Liter, meter, catalogue, honour; the 'e' and the 'r' are switched in Liter and Meter in England and the 'ue' and 'u' are dropped in catalogue, and honour respectivly.

But I'd imagine you'd just take it to the bank and they'd know what to do...

oh i know its in canada...but their spelling just isnt proper english language...they are trying to combine french into it...yet they still write the rest of their sentances in english...i dont get it...never will...

Uh..proper english? We as Americans kinda created our own "English" off our British Ancestors. So who really is speaking "improper" English...Who cares if they want to mix in their French heritage with their British...who are you to coment on it?
