Do car cd recievers need to be compatible with the make/model of the car? I have a Jensen CD450K reciever that I want to put in my Chevrolet Cavalier '97, will it work?

you can put any head unit in any car, you just have to wire it up right

yep, as long as all the wires go to the right places, any headunit will work in any car
