My first ? is I have 2 caps 1 monster cap 1 punch cap both 1 farad. Can I hook both up to the same amp and get 2 farad? Also say you had 1 1farad cap and wanted to run it to 2 different amps would each amp get 1/2 farad?

Next ? , is there any way to test your system to find out how many watts each speaker, sub or amp is preducing or receiving?

And last, my sub amp and subs consist of a kenwood excelon KAC-X401M mono amp.My subs are 2 pioneer premier dvc 12'' TS-W12PRS 1200 max.

the ? is if anyone knows about this set up?I have it running at 1 ohm.And my amp says it can put out 1200 w but doesnt say anything about being 1 ohm stable. But my system plays and sound great.Im just curious what kind of wattage im really putting out. If anyone can help a rookie out I would really appreciate it

if i were you, i would be scared to run that amp to 1 ohm. that is a huge overload. kenwoods dont even run too good at 2 ohms. im sure there is a way to test the watts but i have no clue. but about tha caps, you really dont need them unless you are running some heafty wattage.but for that kewood, no car sould have a problem.

Yes. Farads add together.

Amps don't "get" farads. It's more complicated than that.

Read the other thread on this subject.

Probably a bad idea.

yes you can wire tow caps to equal 2 farads but you want to do the oppisite of resistance. You want to want to wire them in parallel to add them together.

And you said do they each get a farad? it does not quite work like that. Capacitors charge and if the voltage starts to drop below 12 volts they will discharge in an effort to maintain voltage. Farad is a measure of charge.
