Hey everyone,

I am new here but could really use someone's help. I have a 1994 MItsubishi Galant. I am installing a Sony xplod cd player and have come across a problem. I had everything working but when I was mounting the player I had a loose wire (ignition wire) and it got grounded out with the car on. Now my cd player will not turn on with the car because that wire does not have any power coming from it. I know the radio is not blown because if i hook up the ignition wire strait to the constant 12+v then it will turn on.

So my question here is: Would there be another fuse other then in the main fuse box, for that ignition wire? I put the volt meter on it and its definitly dead. I checked in the cars fuse box for a fuse, but it doesn't have one there. I am guessing that there is another fuse somewhere, but I'm not sure where!!

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated !!!

Thank you !

Well, i dont know a lot about what your talking about, but I do know some. I think this same problem happened to me once, but it was my airconditioner that went out. I dont know much about that car, but theyre might be fuses in the engine compartment that might not look like fuses to you. I have a Nissan Pathfinder and they are like little blue and brown fuses(about 1" height x 1" width x 1" length). Most of them were under my hood, but some were in the actually fuse box on the driver's side. Of course I had a professional fix the problem because I had no clue. I hope this helps you out!

I do alot of installations there are two fuses for a stereo take a light tester and check all of your fuses but make sure you check both sides of the fuse

We still need to know what amp is having the issue, make and model. Some mono amps only have 1 preamp input and the other is a output.
