my subs were originally installed by a professional a couple years ago. i didn't bother to find out exactly what he had done, except that he was bridging the 300.2 amp to 2 250w speakers. now i'm trying to educate myself on everything. =)

the amp manual says "into 4 ohms bridged @ 14.4 Vdc - 300x1". this is how its configured, right? the subs are dual 4?. im NOT sure how they're wired, but i would think they would be wired for a 4? load, right? so as to match the 300w x 1ch 4? output of the amp? does that make sense?

if so, that means its sending 150w to each speaker, right?

last question: if i were to disconnect the subs and measure the output with a voltmeter as per the famous jl audio tutorial, what voltage would i be trying to measure? 14.4 x 2 = 28.8? or, as i read somewhere else (acoustic visions forums i think), do i multiply it by the ohms and then take the square root (14.4 x 4 = 57.6, square root

7.6)? the amp is a phoenix gold tantrum. ive contacted both PG and JL on this issue, PG skirted the issue and the JL guy said some promising stuff but he had to get back on me on exactly how to do it with a PG amp instead of a JL one. still waiting on that.

thanks =/ i feel like the insane posting n00b lately. ONE DAY I SHALL BE GOD OF CAR ELECTRONICS AND AUDIO. ONE DAY.
