hey guys can I only use 1 voice coil of a dvc 4 ohms ?

was is the best choice to hook up 2 subs dvc 4 ohms ?

My amp is a 500bd power rockford fosgate

can I use it in a 1 ohm load ??

also can I make the subs look up into 2ohm load

ok my subs are rfd-2212 dvc 4ohms, 500watts each rms,peak 1000.

I have 2 of them Can I use it at 1 ohm load ?

or just use 1 voice coli fo each sub and make it see a 2 ohm load?

why dont u just use one of these subs on ur current fr amp, and then either upgrade to a one ohm stable amp (dont think that rf u have is 1 ohm stable) or buy a second rf amp like that for the second sub, cuz each sub is 500wrms and the amp is 500wrms.....

Good idea dude, was going to recommend the same thing as a second choice, must be an Island thing. I would wire the subs together in a series / parallel circuit. This will present a 4 ohm mono load to the amp, a safe method to run both subs as long as the gain is set properly. The best advice for you with this match of equipment is to have the gain set properly and use the system properly, the next best advice is going to be change either the subs or the amp.

To answer the original question, yes the amp can run at 1 ohm mono but it is HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. If you are going to continue on this path make 100% sure that the resistance on the ground return is as low as possible, meaning it must be below .05 ohm or you will have sas happen. sas = smelly amplifier sysndrome.

RF 500bd is only 2ohm stable.

You could get another 500bd for like $380 or you could just get a 1001bd (new models) for around $500, are you willing to buy another amp is the question.
