Cali Vs Hawaii Vs North Carolina

Personally, I love living in a suburb to the Charlotte area. Where I live is small enough to not have to deal with traffic every day, but it's still a decent size and a mere 15 min away from Charlotte. Weather is pretty good, but it's not SoCal, that's for sure. As the others have mentioned, living so close to the mountains and beach is pretty freakin awesome. The best part is the cost of living. For the same price you would be paying for a shack in SoCal, you could have a pretty decent sized house. I've done the research for Econ class. Let my pull up some of my work.
I'm interested. Thanks for the advice. I much prefer beach to the mountains, but having both is definitely a plus. Looking forward to seeing your econ work.

As of 2006, the average starter house for LA was 736k with an average per capita income of a measly 22.7k.

Having trouble finding NC, right off back, but I know it was much more even. Personal experience tell me this also. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

okay thanks! I think what I'm learning is that I should apply for as many internships at as many coastal cities as possible and just ride the wave where it takes me.

Well, cheaper places are always a bonus. Tell me something about the carolinas. I'm open to all sorts of advice. All I mean to say about LA is that it "seems" the best for ME so far from my research. But I really do want any and all advice.
LA eh, ever watch gangland?

From what I hear, florida is much more humid than cali. Is that correct?
Yes... Cali is wayyy less humid. When the santa annas start blowing in it gets so low that it can dry out your breathing passages a lil bit if you're outside running around a lot (i grew up there, so i experienced this on multiple occasions.)

Houses in Socal have gone down alot. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
WAYYYYY down... i wrote loans for a period of time... some houses have lost 50% of their '06 values (06 was the peak for housing prices in cali, and most other areas with declining values.)

hawaii is very expensive and its hard to get jobs there...gl with that...but the ladies are fine as hell...
Agreed, unless on Oahu, where Honolulu is, its **** near impossible to find a good job. Unless you want to work in the service industry like Hotels, resorts and restaraunts. there is also Sugar cane or pineapple plantations. Not to mention you cant own land in Hawaii, even if you buy a house, you have to lease the land.

Sc or NC is the best choice out of those, Affordable housing, lots to do, and fast growing cities. I loved Charlotte.

I love FL... despite the humidity, it's a great state.

Leave near the beach out of tourist area... the beach is much cooler with the breeze. Great atmosphere, and you cannot beat the women on any FL beach... Cocoa, Melbourne, Daytona, Vero, Clearwater, etc...

Decent cost of living too.. IIRC it's around the national average in Central Florida.

I really like NC, and plan to move there when I graduate. The weather is pretty mild, doesnt get as hot as the other places, also doesnt have the smog that cali is famous for.

Hawaii would be nice, but it would **** having to get everything air shipped to you.

Cali also has them big *** quakes and is gonna fall off eventually, its a fact that its going to fall off it may take a while but its gonna happen.
