I agree with everything except the last statement. I never had a single problem with my PT92, and I had it for about 4 years.

Then again, I took care of it, that might have helped //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I was just going by what I have heard. That is why it was merely my opinion. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And yes proper maintenance is a large part that some people forget.

honestly i'd get a baby eagle....i've got the desert eagle 50 ae and wouldn't get rid of it if my life depended on it but if you're set on a compact i'd definitely go with the baby eagle...bullet proof gun you can't mess these things up

Baby eagles are not near the same caliber as desert eagle. Nor are they hard to find.

Do remember one thing. this is a carry gun. IF you are ever stopped by the police and/or have any trouble with them, they WILL make you put it on the ground one way or another. Whether its in your cold dead hands or by voluntarily placing it there. Since I say that this gun WILL get beat up. Don't go buy some gucci pistol and expect to keep it in mint condition. Buy a gun that you're not gonna cringe if it has to be thrown to the ground.

That is one of the most basic rules of carry guns. Utility > looks.

And I think that is the problem most people have with Taurus'. Clean your gun after every firing, even if you only shoot one round or a few boxes. I've NEVER had a problem with any gun I've owned as long as I kept it clean and maintained.

The PT92 I had was one of the better ones I've had, to be honest. It was pretty light (for a full size 9mm), had 10 round mag, and was very easy to control. Now all I've got is a 500 Mossberg //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

If you want a gun to carry, I'd suggest looking into the Walther P99/ S&W 99. Pretty much the same gun (just nomenclature differs, IIRC), easy to carry (interchangeable backstraps), easy to shoot, not too shabby price wise, and easy to maintain. I've shot the .22LR version of the Walther, and I loved it. Nice little guns, just make sure you get the short barrel if you are going for CCW, the Target barrel is a little long for a quick draw (which is what my stepfather has, the Target barrel, IIRC 5").

Nice suggestion. FN's are badass. I'd love to own a FiveseveN.

I would like to try one of these at the range. There is a lot of hype about them but seem to have pretty mixed reviews.

But I guess that could be said about anything other than sig, hk, kimber and the likes. And even then there are people that dont like things about them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
