Budget build 2009 G8 GT

Hey all figured I would share a little build I have going on. Car is a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT, 6.0l, auto. Since buying car I have replaced the stock struts and shocks with struts and shocks off of a G8 GXP. Lowered car with an Eibach Pro kit, thinking about taking springs back out and removing half a coil to get the front end to settle down a bit since adding weight to the trunk. Then proceed to do some little stuff like tint, new gauge cluster overlay and some blue carbon fiber vinyl.

Started looking at performance parts to make some more horsepower, had an 1986 Buick Regal T type that I spent way to much money on. Wife mentioned that I should put a little system in the car, stock wasn't very good and I haven't had a system in 15 years, so I started looking around and pricing stuff.

Ended up buying an MTX Terminator sub an amp combo. Hooked it all up with an Audiocontrol LC2i. Have to keep stock headunit as it controls everything and I'm don't want to spend over $1000 for a headunit.

Ordered two sets of 6.5 components and two 8's and a Rockford Fosgate Prime 6004d and installed it all. Sounded decent for what it was. The power claims on the MTX box is complete BS. Bridged the 12's on the rear channel of the Rockford amp and launched a cone. Had bought the warranty on the subs from Best Buy and ended up getting my money back.

Looked around at all kinds of different brand subs, cost and shipping to Canada was a big factor in what I ordered. Ended up buying 2 Precision Power Power Class 12's. Built a box to spec and ordered a new amp cuz the little 250 watt MTX wasn't going to cut it. Wife bought me a Planet Audio Anarchy 1500.1 for my birthday, turned out to be one of the biggest peices of ***** I have ever seen. Ended up ordering two Precision Power P1000.1 to run both subs. Bought both amps in the fall and have been slowly working on getting them installed do to the cold weather that we have on east coast of Canada in the winter. Hope to have it all in and done for summer.

On to some pics. Hopefully this works.

Still have to rebuild the amp mounting board, that was done quick to get measurements, bodyfill the screw holes in the face of the box and paint to match, seal off the box 100%, install some LED lights and finish putting in sound deadner.

Will post more pics as I get more installed.

so how did those ppi subs sound? u were just running ppi p1k to both? where did u put the pyle subs? that g8 is awesome..

Subs sound decent for what they are. I picked them up off Amazon.ca for $118 each with free shipping. They sound good and get plenty loud enough for me. Got them in a 4.25 cube box tuned to around 32-33 hz, each sub is wired to a PPI p1000.1 at 2 ohms.

The Pyle 8's are in the factory location on the rear deck. I've got them unhooked now.
