Ok, I thought of this idea a while ago, and all of my friends think it is a good idea, but they really dont know anything about stereos. My idea was to make somthing like a bandpass box, only sealed, no ports. I would stick two subs in it with one facing the back of the box and one facing the front of the box so that when they hit, they would force eachother to hit harder. has anybody tried this, or is it just a really stupid idea that I should not try?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I'm not a box engineer but I think it would work, and pretty well at that. Unless I'm wrong, I think it's like the Iso-Baric concept of putting 2 subs together, facing eachother. But if you just have some spare wood lying around, then I would go for it!

First off there would be major cancelation going on inside that box if you don't switch the polarity of one of the subs. If you switch the polarity of one of the subs, then it wont make one sub make the other hit harder because the cones would be moving in the same direction at the same time. So what you end up with there is like a sealed bandpass box, which I believe will not sound good. You need some part of the sub seeing daylight!

Ok, so say I put a port on each side maybe?? plexiglass on both sides I dont know, it just seems like it would be cool. I do realize that you would have to have some hella beastly subs with a good warranty.
