box shape and kind ????

Does the shape of a sub box matter? I going to build a box and I have an awkward space I want it to go in. I'm also having trouble deciding on a ported or sealed box. It is and Infinity kappa Perfect 12.1D which will be powered by a JBL 300.1. The sub will be in the trunk of a sedan. What do you suggest. Oh, one more thing. When calculating the volume in the box do I account for the volume the sub takes up? If so what is the volume of a Perfect?

i don't think the shape of the box is too big of a deal, but you DO need to consider the displacement of your sub when building a box. the manuel will tell ya it's displacement.
