Anyone have any complete Box plans for a 12" XXX that they would share?

I'd like to make me a temp box for one of my 12s till I can do the wall...

I want a box for Streetbeat or SQL... I'm thinking 2.5 -3 .0^3, Prolly tuned to about 25-30 HZ? Open to suggestions... I want it Ound as hell, but sound good...

I was gonna have one made, but I really want to learn how to build vented boxes and ateast attempt it...

Even if it comes out like Crap, It should still be fun....

vented and ported are the same thing. a slot port is just easier to make than a square port.

What kind of dimensions do you have smullen? You should make a box for 2 of the XXX's, thats what I would do until time comes for lots and lots of spl. I could design you one if u need. send me a msg on aim BulldogSr04

i think RE recommends 2.1 cubes at 28hz on their site for sql. dont mean to hijack your thread but what are the pros and cons of going slot vented vs ported?
Depends on where you look at on their page.... In one spot they have text that says 2.1 @ 28hz, then on a section with some more info they have:

12" SQ 2.5ft@30hz

&

12" SQL 2.5ft@35hz

they have a Blueprint that looks kind of like a cool design, but not all the dimmensions are there (or I don't know how to read them as good as I should)

EXample:

Between the two different view/Angles of the box they have boards labled as

a-

(don't see a ''B", but ones listed in the dimmenions)

c-

d-

e-

f-

g-

h-

t- (I see a side called ""t"", but not listed in dimmensions)

then they have the dimensions listed as

a-36"

b-15" (listed, but don't see a side)

c-13.5"

d-12"

e-11.15"

f-3"

g-11.5"

h-24"

I don't mean to be picky, but if I am going to buy the supplies and take the time to cut each peice and put this all together, I don't want to guess at it...

I want to know its right when I'm done...

Well, I when I put in my air tank and 2 Compressers, I don't have a lot or room to play with...

I took some quick measurements and it looks like

O.D. 38"w x 13.5"H X 13.5"

I.D. 36.5" x 12" x 12" = 3. cubic feet....

I might be able to squeeze a few more inches on depth, but I have to mount my amp on the back of there and leave room for an extra bat...

I was gonna go with 2 of the 12s for temp, but I'd need 5^3FT, 2 amps atleast one battery and I don't have the space till I build a wall, so I thought, I'd just do one...

Is there enough room around it for a port to breathe? What side? How many inches?
What ever the vent area is needed, could we cut that in half and do 2 smaller vents?

I'd like the Sub to go on the side facing the tailgate or the top facing up....

that side pannel facing back with the sub on it could be like 12"Hx 36.5" wide....

Prefereably, I could put the Sub in the middle with the vent on one side or both if thats possible, or sub on one end and vent on the other..

I think sub in the middle with vent on each end would look better, but will it work that way?

Increase your smallest measurement... that would be 12" high I guess. Increasing the height 2" (c'mon, do you really care if you are building a wall in the future) gives you 3.548 which should be plenty for a 3^3 box with 30sq in of portage, tuned down to 30Hz.

Other than that, plug it into www.bcae1.com 's port calculator and, if you directory list their site, you can get to a working box diagram one (that doesn't say CD - ONLY) to give you a nice cutsheet for your six sides //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The rest is up to you

That t that you see is actually B, it just got cut off.
