As long as you check and make sure it's square enough, it can work. It's not going to be as nice as a table saw or using a proper right angle but it can work. It's all in your measuring and your patience.

I also use really cheap tools, but they get the job done. I have a $10 jig saw that the bottom wont stay straignt, but I can stay on the line. angled circles ftw.
