And that something is that people need to grow the **** up and realize that getting "likes" from their imaginary friends and wannabe e-celebrities on social media is entirely unimportant and you could live out the rest of your days without ever clicking on any of that bullshit and never miss anything of value.
I had a friend show me Twitter when it first came out and it looked like the sort of thing you see as graffiti on the wall in a public gas station shithouse. I looked at Faceberg for about a week and that seemed to be just junior high girls gossiping, or at least that's about the level of discourse that happens there.
Kill your TV, ignore grifters, e-celebrities, and everybody else trying to manipulate you, make real friends, build real life relationships with neighbors co-workers and family. This is what is real.
Most imortantly our society is just rotten to the core. As the old addage goes "as above, so below". The rot we see at the top of institutions, industries, and government is just a reflection of a rotten population. Prepare for the worst, myths of a "Great Flood" Atlantis, etc. are meant to be allegories of the cycles we humans build into our civilizations. Ignore the wisdom of the ancients at your peril.
