Best free CD burner software for audio CD's??

My PC currently has Roxio on it to burn CD's, and after making a couple of mix CD's, I'm wanting a better quality reproduction when I burn discs. I can hear popping and faintness in the CD's that I burn when I play them in my car, and was wondering what are some decent free alternatives out there?
