Best digital camera..??

well from experience. 2 broken sony tv, 2 broken sony eq, 2 broken sony headunit. sister sony tv broke down 2 times. several coworker all had sony tv break, more than 10 of them, same problem, power supply.( forgot to mention current sony laptop batteries recalls--any ties?? right thought so??.)

had coworker sony hdtv 55" projection hdtv break down, guess what, one of the bulb and related circuit card, lucky it was under warranty.

Want more, check sony digital camera sold in china, and even china banned or did recall on sony digital camera problems. just search the web and you will find info about it. No wonder sony can't compete anymore, they have new american CEO now so could change, but will see for better or worse. So far they seem better, just gaining market share with sony bravia lcd when they couldn't compete in lcd before.

I believe in the old days, sony made good products but then went the brand went popular--it started using subpar parts and bad quality control and totally relied on selling products based on its passed sony name.

Sort of like Maxxonic buying all these know respected car audio company and sell junk but keep same name, like ads, phoenix gold, PPI, rockford, and several others that I am not sure off.

Forget consumer magazine, its old news magazine and latest event ratings and consumer feedback are found on the internet, just have to weed out some ratings.

Where's the proof ?
Consumer Reports, PC World Magazine, and J.D. Power & Associates all heavily disagree with you ...

my cannon is running on 5 yrs, 2 megapixel old timer,,, no problems.

I guess I could be proof, lol! Had mine break down, but it did last a good 2 years before it happened. I did get to send it back since they had a recall on them that I never knew before hand. Well they said send it here and I did and should be here with in the next couple weeks.

Way way way way way way way out of date ...
He wasn't looking for a very high resolution one, anyway...

I've got an A95 and it's fine for messing around, not a serious camera but I didn't buy it expecting it to be one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have to have manual shutter/apeture control - just the way I think while taking pictures. I want to be able to adjust the shutter speed, apeture and exposure bracketing directly. Most fully automatic cameras bother the hell out of me. I recently got a chance to play around with a Canon digital Elph and other than a neat macro feature, I'd prefer my older A95. The controls sucked and the huge LCD was slooooow under low light conditions.

True.

My big problem with most digital SLRs is that they come packaged with hideous lenses. If you can only open your lens up to f/6 or so, and it's not 1000mm, something's wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That, and the fact that full-frame DSLR's are still way overpriced...which basically kills the chance of having true wide angle lenses with a short enough focal length to make sense.

Venture into the realm of Digital SLRs and only then, will you be a real man.
Real men use converted medium format bodies with digital backs, nuffin' less //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Mirror slap is a ***** with a 6x4.5 SLR, though.

im lookin at a canon powershot, for about 300.. i dont know the model yet but its mixed reviews from nikon to canon in here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

My parents have 5 Sony TVs, not one of them have ever had any problems ...
I have 2 Sony LCD TV/Monitors, no problems ...

Sony Walkman, no problems ...

Sony Discman, no problems ...

Sony Playstation and PS2, no problems ...

Now, I'm not going to sit here and say Sony is the most reliable brand out there, blah blah blah, but to sit there and say that Sony cameras break all the time based completely on a bias towards the company rather than personal experience is completely ridiculous ...

And, no offense, but 99% of people online are fvcking morons ...

I just think that it comes down to so many variables with in a company. I mean it could be who built them, who handled them, blah, blah, blah. I mean I have had well over 5 Sony tv's, some good some bad, sony playstation 1(broke twice and replaced) Sony playstation2(broke 1, my fault and replaced) Sony walkman(old as hell and works fine), Sony Vaio that works perfect and has for the last two years.

So some were good and some were bad. Shit happens. As long as I have a warranty then I am good to go. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Also I have owned a shit ton of Toshiba products that have had 0 problems for years. They are not the cheapest, I guess maybe middle of the road quailty. Well I recently bought a DVD/Burner and had it one week and broke. I guess that means I should give up that company because of that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

That was not ment for you Jmac, but that other guy.

My Sony DSC H2 is awesome i dropped it from about 4ft and it didnt even scratch

K now i got a quick question problem...

1st- When i plug in the USB to the computer to transfer the pix they dont go where i wanted them to be transfered to, its not a big deal but id rather have them in a seperate folder under Digital pics ..

2nd-its a 6 megapixel camera and even when its on the Large setting( i think thats resolution, L, M1 M2 Sm etc ) 2800x2100 or somewhere around there and i transfer it to the computer it only comes up as a 500 kb file.. My old 5 megapixel on full res was around 1.1-1.5 MB per pic..

Any info would really help out, thanks
