There are plenty of good top of the line alarm systems out there for your car. You should check out these brands... Far most, these are the best you'll get for your money. Yes Cliffored is the best I have used. I have tried the DEI Hornet but that is just budget stuff.

Another alarm that looks really good to me on paper is the Crimeguard by Omega. ( http://www.caralarm.com ). but I have never used their stuff before. If any one has could you please give us yuor views on their alarms please....

I have a Panasonic Prestige Platinum Plus and I love it. It only cost me about $100 for the alarm and the remote starter all in one. I found it brand new on eBay and got a friend from a local car place to install it for me. It works great!

it all dependes on what you want it to do i have a clifford alarm with power door locks power trunk open and the alarm goes off if the trunk is poped open kill switch and shock sensors all installed with the cost of the alarm total 180 bucks i also talk to alot of pepole in the car repair bizz and they all tell me that the auto start put in for some cars has caused some problems for most car owners after they getem put in so i would may be stay from that and just use your keys

IMO there are plenty of alarms you can get that will do a fine job. But I think the most important thing to consider is the install. You could have and audiovox alarm with a quality install and be better protected than with a top of the line viper with a crappy install. The location of the "brain" is very important b/c 75 percent of alarm brains are stashed right around the steering column. And every thief worth their salt knows this. So they simply rick the panel off and pull the brain out. Also being sure to install the siren pointed down to make sure no water collects and causes malfunction is very important. There is my 2 cents for what it is worth...

Defintely agree with cfurtick about installation being key. Just remember that no matter how bad someone wants it, theyll get it. My friend bought the top of the line wheel locks for his 20" (real) Daytons (well over $4000). Someone wanted them that bad. Put his Navigator on blocks and cut off where the axle meets the tire. Just goes to show you. Buy a decent alarm and dont "show off" in places or by people you shouldnt.

The best alarm i can think of under 400.00 is a smith&wesson 45!! All of my vehicles that have been broken into always had alarms and no one bothered to listen or pay attention when it went off. There's no such thing as a good alarm... What you need to do is like what gator4thehaters said. My friends have gotten their cas jacked in front of their house. Alarms are just deterents for thieves. If they want it they can get it... Just beware, the more money you put in your car, just better watch where you're going like nolesman said. I hope my car doesn't get stolen, but I'll still have a alarm system in there. Also pack a 12-guage shotgun in case... Keep your eyes close to your car. If you're going to spend that much money, you might as well go with Viper, they're inexpensive but they do the job...
