Best 1200 watt amp under $300

Ok here it goes. I'm lookin to get 2 RE SE 12's and I need to find a decent amp to power them. They are rated at 600 rms each so something around 1200 watts would be nice. I checked out the sticky and it gave good info, but it didn't say anything about quality of amps. I know the JBL 1200.1 is good but they are hard to find for under $300 (besides sound domain). So if anyone has some suggestions that would be nice. Thanks

look at ebay for the jbl 1200.1 and also the hifonics bx1500d and the pg tantrum 1200.1

Visonik is pretty good. Their power ratings are a little high from what I hear, but I haven't heard too many quality complaints about their class D amps.

Check out the Visonik V900XD.

Another one to look out for on ebay--

Refurbished Directed 1100d (1100W RMS @ 1 ohm, GREAT amp)

Phoenix Gold Tantrum T1200.1 (a bit over $300 though but sweet amp)

Hifonics Brutus bx1500d

Lanzar Vibe 1200d is not a bad amp either. It does more than rated power easily, and has a subsonic filter which the JBL lacks (nothing to worry about if you plan to go sealed, but if you wanna port, subsonic is great to have). It's just the Viberant series that ***** ass. The older Vibe series is not bad IMO.

I have a visonik v900xd and wouldn't say its low quality at all. Pretty darn good amp for $235 shipped.

i used a lanzer viberant series a while ago, lasted about 4 months and now its gone. lasted about 2 hours before it went into protect, usually. and it got veeeery hot. aiight

If you are going to use a Lanzar amp, stay with the OptiDrive line, hella power and o.k. on the pocket. Don't know anything about Visonik though, and the JBL, Hifonics and PG are good choices also...... :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

I think I will eventually go with a Hifonics since they have a built in ssf and is in my price range. I know there are some people with them, what do you guys think of them?

And feel free to vote still, I want to see what everyone prefers.

i have the pg t1200.1 and it's a kick ass amp, i used to have the jbl 1200.1 it was a real strong amp but it got real hot like real hot at 1ohm i sold it and got a kx1200.1 real nice amp to but kinda costly.

i'd go with the pg t1200.1 it put's out some crazy power. my birth sheet.

I'm torn between the Brutus and the Tantrum, I guess I will just go with whichever one I get the best deal on. If anyone knows where I can get good deals on these amps, besides ebay, lemme know. Thanks for all the input.
