I am wanting to know what would be the best hook up for this system. I have already bought the amp and I am getting ready to buy the subs. But the box is undecided. The place I am buying the subs told me they would build me a kick *** box for 175-230. But I don't wanna pay a shit load for a box. Any suggestions on what to do. Also I am not for sure which to buy the punch or power series any help with that too would be appreciated.

if ur from southern california, i'll be willing to sell you my box. it's a custom sealed enclosure for 2 12's.

now for ur question, i'd get the punch hx2's because ur amp won't push the power hx2's to its fullest potential. the power of the punch vs power hx2's is 2 times (500w for the punch and 1000 for the power). since ur getting 2 of them u'll need a 1000 watt amp for the punches, and 2000 for the power to gain its fullest potential. if i remember correctly, the 1000.1 puts out 1000 watts at 2 ohms, and 500 at 4, so ur gonna wanna wire it in a 2 ohm config. i'm not a wiring genius, so maybe someone else can help u with that. if i remember correctly, a parallel wiring scheme on 2 4 ohm dvc subs will give u a 2 ohm load, but i dont know how ur gonna do that in a 1 channel amp. good luck

to wire those subs at 2ohms you would have to get the dual 2ohm subs with the dual 4 you cant wire them at 2 ohms so if you havent bought the subs yet get the dual 2ohm subs and wire them in series to get the 2 ohm load this will give ya the right ammount of power from that amp. hope this helps. oh yea for a box if you want a cheap sealed box go to speakerhole.com they got dual sealed boxes for like 39 dollars.

geonn is correct. two 4 ohmdvc subs in parallel is 2 ohm, however on a bridged amp, it "sees" 1 ohm. series 2 4 ohm dvc to get 8 ohms and then the bridged amp "sees" 4 ohm. you'll need to get the 2ohm dvc punch's or power's to get the most from your amp. or you could get 4 of the dvc 4ohm's. that will get you a 2 ohm load in series.

i agree with suckmikehawk about the punch over the power series. with just the single amp, it would be the better choice. what did the "birth certificate" say about the amps rating? the amp would probably push the power's ok, but do a better job on the punch's.

most good amps are under rated ...not to the level they used to be in the mid 90's but you can squeeze an extra db out of most good amps........ and as for the subs..get what you want your amp would and could push either..but mind you will not power the power series to the fullest....but who listens to their stuff cranked 24-7? just some food for thought
