Battery terminal question?

I was just wondering if you could use a negative battery terminal as a positive and vise versa? IS there anything special about them where they cant be swapped. Im not talking about stock terminal im looking into buying aftermarket ones.

generally, terminals are terminals. they maybe labeled or colored for a negative terminal use but they should be the same as a positive terminal.

on most applications, the negative battery terminal is slightly smaller than the positive

my aftermarket terminals look exactly alike.. only a very small idicator telling me whether it is positive or negative. Either case, your question is like "can I use the red color wire as my ground". On a normal car battery the negative post is smaller than the positive. A positive terminal will not make good contact on a negative post and a negative terminal will not fit on a positive one. The Stinger Expert series will fit on either, but they come with a brass sleeve that slides over the negative battery post to make it the same size as the positive.
