battery draining amp

hey all i have mtx 1501d thats powering 3 w0's i think (i bouth them used). i have a 4gauge wire kit runnin from the battery to the 1 farad cap then 4 gauge to the amp...when i turn it up high and the bass is really thumping, my battery gauges will drop a notch or more on each bass note. but my lights dont seem to be dimming. is that a problem?

Well.. if the lights are not dimming then i dont see why it would be a problem.. my guage moves and my lights dim.. thats because i have stock alternator.....

so do i. but i would think since i installed that cap it would help from killing my alternator. i just got this explorer 96 sport with 30,000 miles. dont wanna ruin it already

i have a explorer 97 xlt.... i just think the ford explorer wasnt built that great with electrical systems...

the battery guage going down is just cause by the amp drawing more power then the alternator can push.......... but if your lights arent dimming, it isnt drawing that much.... so unless your lights are dimming you have nothing to worry about in my opinion
