battery corroded

I just put in a yellow top less than a week ago, and the positive has already corroded, along with part of the positive battery terminal. IS this normal so soon?

I would think that is should not corrod that fast. I would contact the place you bought it from and ask them to replace the battery. Or contact the manufacture direct and let them tell you. GET IT IN WRITING so you can back your a$$ up if it fails early.

Mine does but I have had my battery for a while, you can buy some stuff at any autostore that keeps them from corroding, but Id do what pavengmike6 said no matter what.

Just mix a LITTLE bit of water into like 2 tablespoons of baking soda, and let it sit on ur terminals for a few minutes then wipe away. cleans them nicely

I would suspect the terminals to be the culprit rather than the battery. If they are brass, they will corrode quickly, which is why brass terminals are plated. If they are plated it is likely that the plating it scratched through to the base metal. Current going through the terminals will cause a galvanic reaction that will cause the corrosion to occur quickly.
