Bad economy eh? No work? WTF

Tis true.I work 50-50 office and field work. Office work is boring and makes the day pass by slow. I can feel myself getting fatter sitting in an office chair.

Working in the oil field is very hard labor, but is constantly changing and exciting making the day go by quickly. I

I work outside every day and love it(but maybe a little less when it's either 100 or 30 outside), but 8-9 months out of the year it isn't too bad. I can't imagine being stuck in an office building all day, I'd go crazy.

Depends who it is. I work construction and work harder than most on here, I'm sure. If you even have time to poast while you're at work, then your job isn't very taxing or you're not working very hard. I personally think that most people who work in offices are lazy as they generally only do actual work for a few hours a day and ******** the rest of the time, from what I've seen and heard from those people.
Kind of true. I've worked retail, fast food, and at a hotel and now I'm in an office type of job working overnight and the people that work in the mornings are generally pretty big and don't even get up very often. Before working there I was used to being on my feet all day long at work and it helps time go by faster. It was like a complete 180 coming to my new job lol. I usually do about 10 hours of actual work max in a week out of 40 hours. The rest of the time I'm watching movies, browsing the net or sleeping. I get up and walk around constantly though because I don't like sitting for long periods of time. Easiest job I've ever had. Only problem is that it's overnight.

What do you do? Is the pay worth being bored out of your mind?

Work in like a mail type of place and work with those huge laser printers for a certain government agency don't really want to say which one. Pays pretty well too. Can't really complain, basically getting paid to watch movies, do homework, and browse the net. I've watched pretty much every movie that the redboxes over here have. And all the movies I had in my for sale thread a while ago lol.The only problem is all the free time gives me the chance to search ebay and amazon and waste money on things I don't need.

what do you do?
Layout for framing contractors. Basically pop lines on the ground where walls go and mark doors/windows/tubs/etc...basically tell the framers how to build the walls by marking header sizes, heights, stud spacing, and lots of other things that are kinda hard to convey over the internet. Lots of thinking and problem solving kind of situations, lots of math and measurement memorization, which is why I like it so much. It's not really physically taxing like how framing is, I just walk a hell of a lot and bend over a ton(no ghey) to mark on the ground.

Construction Industry as a whole is lazy from my/my family's experiences

When you have the joy of watching a custom home be built then you can talk. We came up to the house every day and framers are the laziest mother****ers out there, took em WAY to long to put the house up, but like I said its custom so it was done right.

Although from Digging to Move in was about 6.5 Months
