Hey guys anyone know if I can bridge this baby at 1 ohm??? for a half ohm nominal? I searched and found some info but this was with the older one I think.. anyways This will be strictly for burps! And is going in a 97 Blazer.

Do you think if I am using the 1800 watts for my 15" XL d2 on daily with stock electrical and big 3 and am ok that I can burp safely with this 3k watts? It will probably drop pretty low for a few seconds but I was going to eventually get a batcap 300 or 400 or a kinetik hc 600 which would be best for me? Thanks guys!!!! on ebay they have really cheap 200 amp alts and will get one eventually down the road no time soon...

for burps the amp should be fine, as long as your not letting your voltage get too low, if your going to get a new bat, then i suggest a deka 9a31 or other group 31, so you actually have some serious reserve capacity, the hc600 wont be enough for that amp, i had a 1400 as a second bat and was getting drops down to almost 12 running 1500 watts daily.

It goes into protect immediately? I mean I only need 2-3 seconds for a burp... And my buddies pathfinder runs 2k with just a little light dimming... I was thinking i would run the amp at 1900 watts and bridge at 1 ohm for comps and just turn the amp down if voltage drops below 12 volts and then for burps I thought I would be ok with an extra battery, but I could get a big bat I guess.... Actually I think it would make more sense just to get a bigger alternator first right?

I think it varies from amp to amp, but it just chills on protect after a few secs

Alt before bat is what you're supposed to do, but most people do bat and forget the alt (like me)

The AP1500D can run .5 ohm and be fine but the AP30001D will go into protect @ 1 ohm bridged(the 3000 is basically two 1500s internally strapped). Why? 1 - because it isn't designed to do so and 2 - that way the amp won't self-destruct from misuse.

If you want .5 ohm safely get the Soundstream DTR1.3400D, it is RATED to go down to .5 ohm so you don't even have to worry about it.

I still don't understand why people try to run amps below their factory rated impedance, yeah impedance rise and yeah strong electrical blah blah blah, you're still taking a chance.

I wouldn't even run a 1500 at .5.

My neighbor just got it and he has d2 subs so he could do .5 but doesn't trust it

I think Im going to do AP3k and then a cheap 200 amp ebay alt (lucky i got a blazer!) and then a cheap $100 battery for the back if i need it!

Whats the best battery to get for around $100-$150 a hc600 or a batcap?

What are you talking about you can mount it vertical or horizontal like any other amp. Does rated and its clean power plus its easy on the electrical and has a very small footprint, price. One of the best budget 2k watt amp out there

I was gonna buy a Soundstream 2200 or 3400 too but I went for the AP30001D because it's less expensive and so far pretty reliable. I have it at 2 ohms mono.
