Once you get all of the bloatware off of it, and disable all of Vista's stupid shit they have on there, it's actually pretty good. I disabled a ton of Vista's operations, and it runs great.

I actually like Vista a lot more than XP. It looks better and can do so much more. You just have to have a powerful computer to run it.

Between the Buried and Me FTW!

Just ordered my T- Series. I can't wait till it gets here.

I use Vista at school. But I really haven't had any real seat time to see what it can do. I hear people that love and hate it, soo I suppose I will have to wait and see.

thats exactly what im running now, except i have 2gb ram, 100gb 7200rpm hdd and a 128mb dedicated NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M card

and xp pro

and i think i ordered it with a dvd-burner

mines better

I was going to get the 9 cell for mine, but stuck with the 6 cell for a number of reasons. Firstly, I use the laptop primarily at home and work, both of which I can plug it in and charge it quite easily. Second, the additional size/weight of a larger battery- I know it's not much more, but I'll be bringing it to school, along with my schoolbooks and whatnot.

Also, if need be, I can pick up a OEM 6 cell on ebay for ~$50.

With the 6 cell though, I get almost 4 hours right now...it's actually pretty efficient. I've gotta find some battery optimizer programs and see if I can get more life out of it...

I'm not going to read through 10 pages, but I have the Dell XPS1210 with basically those same stats/components, and I love it. Centrino Duo (Core2 Duo), 120gb HD, 1gb RAM, etc... sweet machine for sure. Bought it a year ago and it still does everything I want it to. Got it right before Vista came out so it has XP...

Maybe. But mine was $802. I bet I won that category. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I would never use that size HD. I chose the 5400rpm drive to save on power usage as well. No need for the faster drive. My goal was to stay under $1K, I did, so I am pretty happy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Vista has a battery optimization program built-in that works quite well ... I'd try that first before you start downloading crap ...
