I stumbled upon one for cheap so please be kind. I’m picking up a 10” apocalypse or ap10d with an upgraded coil. I can’t find anything for specs online. Anyone here have an idea about Fs Vas and qts? I found defunct rd audio specs but not sure if they had ordered anything exactly like this to be made by atomic/sja or not.

Atomic subs perform similar to DD, so any of their box plans should be a good starting point.

Not sure what the score is with the new management there. I know a dealer who had to drop them several years ago... can't quite recall the entire story of why it wasn't worthwhile to carry their lineup anymore, but definitely the new owners appeared to be rather out of touch and were on track to run the company into the ground.

Thank you for your time and response. Yea they really are not the best customer support wise. I have been scouring the internet to find specs and I’ve found some good stories about the Old owner George and even stories of his wife. Same. But all the guys I've seen run Atomic in the past used basically DD box specs with good results. Large box, plenty of port area, tuned 36-40hz.

My dealer dropped them back when George was running it. I ordered some 8's for a competition. After George shipped the he stated he would not warranty them because I was using them for competition.

I appreciate the feedback, I think the one I am picking up is older but still in the box. If it was mounted I couldn’t tell from pictures. I’m not trying to compete or anything I just thought It was a decent woofer for 100$. It may not murder the lows but I’m probably going to tune it lower than optimal, but coming from a 15” in 3 cubes net this should be relatively compact.

Seems like a reasonable position, and I'd like to think that nobody doing real SPL competition would expect any sort of warranty for those applications.

I had had a conversation with George. The subs were custom built by Atomic and he stated he would ship with full warranty. And was told I would have them in time for my competition. (Which was two months out). I didn't get them for the competition. My dealer then called George to ask when I would get them. My dealer and George got into a heated argument. George then stated he would ship them but without warranty. We never received the subs and my dealer refunded me.

These were the 8's I was looking at. I needed them to handle 1500 watts each. And ordered 4 of them. Never got them.

I scored boys it was still in the box. $100 and a tank of gas. I’m tryna get rid of my single 15” directronix sub now.. I know it’s not a sundown or eclipse subwoofer but it will make my old lady happier when we leave the grocery store.

I scoured the internet for recommendations and I guess this used to be a pdf on the website but they’ve changed the website and it’s not available. I emailed them twice because I figured it couldn’t hurt to try. I’ll still probably tune below recommended because some rebassed music is fun to play. Those port recommendations are small but I guess they’re using gross volume on the enclosure, so they figured out a way to recommend an enclosure without telling the drivers displacement.
